Week 4 Wrap Up

First, I would like to welcome Miss Megan Kincaid to the Brantner Kindergarten team! She will be joining the staff on B days and 22 students will be in her classroom. I know that she will be a great addition to the team and she and I will be working closely to make the transition as easy as possible for the students! Second, we celebrated two birthdays in class this week. I welcome snacks for the students, but I ask that all snacks be store bought. This way I can check labels to ensure that all students' dietary needs are being met. I really appreciate your help with this! Third, we had a busy week in class. We began reading stories aloud as a class and the students really enjoyed it! The class took our first math test together. We did the majority of the test as a class, so that the students learn HOW to take a test. The format is similar to the tests that they will take in grades 1-5, so we are laying the groundwork for success in years to come, as well as in kindergarten. I am looking forward to all of the wonderful learning ahead this school year!
