This four day week ushered in the new quarter. Now that the second quarter has begun, the morning class will have music class and the afternoon class will attend gym class for their cultural arts time each week.
In math, we began discussing 2-D shapes and their attributes (how many sides, corners, etc.). The students must master the following 2-D shapes: square, triangle, circle, rectangle and hexagon.
Next week we will continue to explore 2-D shapes, practice identifying the first sound in words, and focus on blending letter sounds to read consonant-vowel-consonant words, such as mix, hat and run.
I will see many of you at conferences on Tuesday! When I checked my schedule today, I was happy to see that I am completely booked on the 16th. I am looking forward to discussing your child's progress with you!
